The B-KLAT Grade 1 holder lacking in accuracy and completeness may answer to the basic inquiry on his/her personal information and communicate restrictively in the routine situations by utilizing a few of sporadic vocabularies and simple phrases. (Ex. self-introducing, greeting, asking the way, calculating, telling the phone number, telling the location/ place/ transportation, etc.)

The B-KLAT Grade 2 holder may explain simply and respond routinely to the limited and familiar situations of daily life and have a simple and daily conversation by utilizing basic grammar and short sentences. (Ex. exchanging the personal information, describing the weather, buying things, telling the hobby, reading the short-practical memos such as receipt, short letter, short business message, etc.)

The KLAT Grade 1 holder with the proficiency of basic grammar and short sentences may respond routinely to the limited and familiar situations of daily life and understand the simple sentences of daily and practical life.(Ex. introducing him/herself and his/her family, ordering the food, making an appointment, reading the sentences of daily and practical life, etc.)

The KLAT Grade 2 holder may have a basic communication in daily life and cope linguistically with the problem occurring in the predictable situations of daily life. (Ex. telephoning, inviting, suggesting, comparing, asking, apologizing, telling the experience of last weekend or past journey, seeing a doctor, etc.

The KLAT Grade 3 holder without a great problem with his/her daily life may generally understand and speak daily-used linguistic expressions and comprehend the social contents such as simple and brief articles of newspaper, news, magazine, etc.

The KLAT Grade 4 holder may understand and make use of various expressions of Korean language in his/her daily life or at the company without a great problem. The holder with the general comprehension of the expert-level contents may be able to study his/her major in a specific field.

The KLAT Grade 5 holder may not only express his/her opinion clearly or persuade an opponent by using suitable and various expressions of Korean language in various complex situations but also do the high-level Korean activities based on the comprehension of Korean culture and society.
